Scotts Cobble Nordic Center [Lake Placid]
Scotts Cobble is the place to go for nordic skiing. Rentals are run by High Peaks Cyclery, the best place to buy ski gear in the area. They put the cost of rentals toward the purchase of gear.
Toboggan Shute [Lake Placid]
A 30-foot-high toboggan slide onto the frozen surface of Mirror Lake. Distances of over 1,000 feet are possible depending on ice conditions.
Mt. Pisgah [Saranac Lake]
A ski area tubing hill featuring two parallel inner-tube runs. They even have a rope tow to bring you back up the hill.
Adirondack Snowmobile [Lake Placid]
They offer guided tours on groomed trails (~16 miles). They also have rentals if you want to self-guide.
Sara‑Placid Sled & Spoke [Saranac Lake]
They are located right on the Rail Trail, which goes all the way from Lake Placid to Tupper Lake (34 miles). They get a brand-new fleet of snowmobiles each season so their gear is very well-maintained.
